A co-operation agreement was signed in Samarkand between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, and Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Uzbekistan.
The document enshrines the parties' intentions in the field of culture, including the organisation of exhibitions, restoration of monuments, museum work, academic exchange and training of specialists.
Joint initiatives include an exhibition of Uzbek applied arts at Palazzo Reale in Milan, archaeological expositions at the Scuderia del Quirinale in Rome and Palazzo Grimani in Venice, and updating the exposition of the Bukhara Museum of Art and developing the Restoration Centre in Bukhara with the participation of Italian curators.
