A meeting was held between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, and international heritage experts — Italian architect Francesco Bandarin and Simone Ricca, Director General of the French company RC HERITAGE.
The discussion focused on the development of Uzbekistan’s National Strategy for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage. The document will consolidate existing initiatives into a unified system and provide for the protection of architectural monuments, urban ensembles, cultural landscapes, and intangible heritage.
The Strategy will mark an important step toward assessing the condition of heritage sites, identifying priority projects, strengthening research potential, and expanding cooperation with international organizations, including UNESCO, ICOMOS, and ICCROM.
