Bukhara Night Race will be held for the third time as part of the Samarkand Marathon charity race series. The event will take place in Bukhara on 24 August 2024.
The event is a night race on an illuminated track that starts at sunset. This is the first of its kind in Uzbekistan and has found favour with athletes and amateurs who come to support the unusual race from all corners of the country and abroad.
The route of the competition takes place in the historical part of the city - athletes will have to overcome their distances surrounded by famous landmarks, mosques and madrasas, caravanserais and unique ancient buildings. This year, 5 and 10 kilometre races, Nordic walking and a children's race for participants from 4 years old are available for registration.
In addition to the above-mentioned varieties, the list will also include plogging - a run to collect rubbish, which has become a tradition since ZAAMIN ULTRA 2024. Plogging is open to participants from 16 years of age and parents are welcome to join in with their children. At the end of the race, a raffle with prizes from partners will be held between the participants of the plogging.
Last year's Bukhara Night Race event attracted more than 1,600 athletes from 20 countries. This time the number of participants will almost double to 3,000. Additional slots will also be available in the children's race.
