A meeting was held between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, and Rachida Dati, the French Minister of Culture. The strong cultural cooperation between France and Uzbekistan, aimed at preserving and promoting the heritage of both countries, was emphasized. A vivid example of this collaboration is the exhibitions organized, including “The Road to Samarkand” at the Arab World Institute and the display at the Louvre, where unique artifacts representing Uzbekistan’s rich heritage captured significant interest from the French public for the first time.

The parties also discussed continued cooperation in the restoration of monuments and artifacts, which plays a key role in cultural heritage preservation. Plans were addressed for opening a branch of France’s National Institute for Heritage (INP) in Tashkent, which would mark an important step in deepening partnership and exchanging expertise in restoration.

The involvement of a French delegation in the 43rd UNESCO General Assembly, set to be held in Samarkand, was also discussed, highlighting the commitment to further collaboration on the international stage.
