Paria Farzaneh in Tashkent

We are welcoming Paria Farzaneh as a new resident at the CCA Artist Residencies in Tashkent. A British-Iranian artist and fashion designer, her work bridges fashion, cultural storytelling, and social commentary — reimagining clothing as a vessel of memory, resistance, and identity.

Born in England to Iranian parents, Paria draws inspiration from her heritage while grounding her work in a Western upbringing. Her clothing line merges Persian iconography, calligraphy, and textiles with contemporary silhouettes, creating a dialogue between cultures and expanding fashion into a language of heritage and transformation.

Though she resists labeling her work as purely political, Farzaneh uses design to share Middle Eastern culture with Western audiences. Through patterns, colors, and forms, she seeks to challenge stereotypes, broaden perspectives, and bring back a sense of beauty to the world.
