The exhibition "Opening the Palace Chambers: Art at the Court of the Emir of Bukhara" has opened at the State Hermitage Museum, organised jointly by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation and the State Hermitage Museum.
Dedicated to the artistic culture of the Emirate of Bukhara, the exhibition brings together 75 museum objects that reflect the traditions of courtly life, decorative and applied arts, and the jewellery craftsmanship of Central Asia. The display features exhibits from the collections of Uzbekistan’s leading museums and the State Hermitage Museum, presented as part of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026.
The project introduces visitors to Bukhara’s rich cultural heritage and the exquisite jewellery art of its royal court. It is accompanied by an educational programme comprising lectures, traditional music concerts, masterclasses, and other public engagement events.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until 4 October 2026.
