In Tashkent, illegal construction near a cultural heritage site has been suspended
The Tashkent Inter-District Economic Court suspended the construction work at 28, Yusuf Khos Hojib Street, Yakkasaray District. The lawsuit was filed by the Cultural Heritage Agency at the initiative of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation due to violations threatening the Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan.
The Museum is an important cultural heritage site and a significant example of Tashkent modernism. Protecting such landmarks is essential not only for preserving history, but also for preserving the architectural appearance of the city.
