OPENING OF THE INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL IN TASHKENT
The International Jazz Festival in Tashkent will open with a performance by a legend of world jazz — Stanley Clarke.
A four-time Grammy Award winner, one of the greatest bass guitarists in the history of music and co-founder of the iconic group Return to Forever, he stood at the origins of jazz fusion. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Clarke has performed and recorded with Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock and Aretha Franklin. In 2022, he was honoured with the title of Jazz Master — the highest state recognition in the United States in the field of jazz.
This performance will serve as the official opening of the festival and set the tone for its entire programme.
