Uzbekistan’s National Pavilion at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale — the country’s fifth appearance at this prestigious forum — is drawing to a close.

On 23 November, the project A Matter of Radiance will come to an end, having introduced international audiences to the heritage of Uzbek modernism, the research behind the Heliocomplex, and the scientific legacy of academician Sodiq Azimov in the field of solar energy.

Over the course of the Biennale, the pavilion has become a space for professional dialogue on architecture, science and contemporary art, offering a fresh perspective on the relationship between people and natural energy.

On the final day, a lecture by Professor Steve Woolgar, joined by co-curator Ekaterina Golovatyuk, will take place — a closing event that will reflect on Uzbekistan’s participation in the Biennale and invite audiences to reconsider the A Matter of Radiance project from a new standpoint.
