On 24 November, the second part of the 25th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage began at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
The session is chaired by Uzbekistan, represented by Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation and of the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO. This marks an important stage in the continuation of work initiated on 11 November in Samarkand during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
During the meeting, the General Assembly is addressing key agenda items, including the election of new members to the World Heritage Committee, as well as reports and analytical materials that will guide the future work of preserving cultural and natural heritage.
