A meeting was held in Beijing between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, and Mr Gao Bo, Chairman of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC).

The focus of the talks was the collaboration on the construction of the new National Museum of Uzbekistan, an ambitious project designed by the world-renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Now formally underway, the project is destined to become a striking new cultural landmark for the nation, seamlessly blending its rich historical heritage with a contemporary artistic vision.

The discussions placed particular emphasis on the highest standards of architectural quality, the use of resilient materials, and the incorporation of leading global practices. Both parties expressed confidence that their joint endeavours will ensure the museum’s realisation at the very highest level, establishing it as one of the foremost cultural institutions of Uzbekistan and a beacon for Central Asia as a whole.
