In Samarkand, Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, met with Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture and Youth of the United Arab Emirates. The parties discussed cooperation within the framework of UNESCO and the expansion of cultural partnership.
Joint initiatives were considered, including Uzbekistan’s participation in the Al Burda Award ceremony at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the preparation of an exhibition in collaboration with the Louvre Abu Dhabi, as well as projects in the fields of art, crafts, contemporary art, and the creative economy: residencies, masterclasses, educational programmes, and the exchange of expertise in museum management and digital heritage.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Uzbekistan and the UAE to strengthen cultural dialogue and develop joint initiatives in the areas of heritage, art, and the creative economy.
