On 4 November, a meeting was held in Samarkand between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, and Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. The discussion focused on the prospects for further cooperation in the field of cultural heritage preservation.
The key topic of the meeting was the preparation for the 25th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the World Heritage Convention, which will be held on 11 November in Samarkand as part of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, as well as at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 24–25 November 2025.
