Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, held a meeting with Laura Tedeschi, Head of the Cultural Heritage Programme at the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the US Department of State.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of cultural heritage preservation, joint projects for the restoration of historical sites, and the implementation of a five-year action plan aimed at developing cultural exchange. Particular attention was paid to the participation of American artist Suchi Reddy in the Bukhara Biennale and initiatives supporting educational programmes.
As part of the partnership with the US Embassy, there are plans to launch English Clubs in the Bukhara Children's Library. The programmes, implemented with the participation of American teachers, will promote the study of English and strengthen cultural ties between the countries.
