In Bukhara, the project for the comprehensive re-exposition of the Museum of Fine Arts has been presented, prepared under the direction of Silvia Burini and Giuseppe Barbieri. The exhibition unfolds across three Galleries, each dedicated to distinct artistic themes.
The first Gallery hosts the temporary exhibition “Foodscapes. Maps of Flavour, Echoes of the Soul”, aligned with the theme of the Bukhara Biennale 2025 “Recipes for Broken Hearts”. Paintings, complemented by textiles and ceramics, explore food as an element of cultural identity — from still lifes depicting fruits and traditional dishes to scenes of family meals, rituals, and gatherings.
The other two Galleries “Landscapes” and “Waterscapes” present interpretations of both the ancient and contemporary city, as well as of the Uzbek landscape, where water is given particular emphasis as a symbol of transformation and a source of inspiration for artists.
