In Kashkadarya province, a solemn opening ceremony of the Langar Ota Mosque, one of the unique architectural monuments of the XV-XVI centuries, located in the mountain village of Langar, was held.
The restoration work was carried out with the support of the US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Heritage Preservation (AFCP) and under the scientific guidance of the University of Chicago. The restoration covered decorative elements, columns, mosaics and calligraphic inscriptions, with the participation of international specialists.
The opening ceremony was attended by Director of the Agency for Cultural Heritage Bakhodir Abdikarimov, U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick and representatives of the local community and international partners.
