Elmurod Najimov, First Deputy Chairman of the Art and Culture Development Foundation, spoke at the panel discussion ‘Programming Eco Agendas Across Cultural Institutions’ at the COP29 conference in Baku. He noted that sustainable development is a key focus of the Foundation, which supports environmental awareness in cultural projects to preserve natural and cultural heritage.

The upcoming Bukhara Biennale, which will open on 5 September 2025, was cited as an example. All artworks for this event will be created using local resources, minimising greenhouse gas emissions and supporting sustainable production. The Biennale will bring together different art forms and will be a platform for the transmission of environmental and cultural values.

Concluding his speech, Elmurod Najimov emphasised the importance of international cooperation that promotes environmental awareness on a global level. According to him, the Foundation's projects, such as the Bukhara Biennale, create a solid foundation for future generations by combining cultural heritage, sustainable development and creativity.
