A meeting was held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris with the Director for Gender Equality at UNESCO, Begonya Lasagabaster

As part of ongoing working meetings at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, a meeting was held with the Director for Gender Equality at UNESCO, Begonya Lasagabaster. The Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation , Gayane Umerova, and the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO, Kamol Mukhtarov, discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation with the Organization in the area of women’s support, their role in culture, education, and social initiatives.

During the meeting, initiatives within the framework of the "Uzbekistan 2030" strategy aimed at supporting women in the fields of culture, arts, and digital technologies were presented. Projects focused on developing female leadership in creative industries, expanding their participation in the digital environment, and creating opportunities for women’s professional growth in the cultural sector were discussed.

The prospects for expanding cooperation with UNESCO were also addressed, as well as the organization of a special event during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, dedicated to issues of development and interaction in the areas covered by the Organization’s mandate.
