Gayane Umerova, Chairwoman of the Uzbekistan Art and Cultural Development Foundation, visited the Institute for Cultural Heritage Research at Gangoji Temple, where she met with representatives of the restoration centre and researchers.
During the visit, they discussed the stages of preparation of a joint archaeological exhibition scheduled for 2027 at the Nara National Museum, as well as issues related to restoration projects and research carried out by Japanese specialists in the Surkhandarya region, particularly in the city of Termez.
Special attention was paid to the IV century artefact - the so-called “Snake Sword”, found two years ago in Nara and currently under restoration at the Institute. The sword is seen as one of the key exhibits of the forthcoming exhibition, reflecting the historical ties and cultural interaction between the regions.
