On 4 June 2026, as part of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum’s cultural festival “Petersburg Seasons”, the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation will present G. F. Handel’s opera Tamerlano on the legendary stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Following successful performances at Dubai Opera and a concert premiere at the Musikverein, the project will be presented in Saint Petersburg. Handel’s music, interpreted by Kirill Richter, is enriched with traditional Uzbek instruments, creating a distinctive sound that evokes the era of Amir Temur.
