Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Gayane Umerova, met with the French Minister of Culture, Catherine Pégard. The parties discussed joint cultural initiatives, including the opening of the French Cultural Centre in Tashkent, the development of museum cooperation, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Particular attention was given to preparations for an exhibition dedicated to Uzbek dance, as well as the prospects of presenting an exhibition of the Uzbek avant-garde from the collection of the I. V. Savitsky State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in Paris. The parties also discussed further cooperation with leading French cultural institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the implementation of joint cultural projects between Uzbekistan and France.
