This year, works by Uzbek artisans Sanjar Kubaev, Alisher Nazirov and Shavkiddin Kamolov are presented at Homo Faber: An Island of Light in Venice, one of the world’s leading international exhibitions dedicated to fine craftsmanship.
Uzbekistan is also represented by Dierbek Abdullaev and Sabina Djuraeva as mediators in the Young Ambassadors programme. The exhibition programme is further complemented by suzani embroidery masterclasses led by Madina Kasimbaeva.
Uzbekistan’s participation continues the collaboration between the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation and the Michelangelo Foundation, contributing to the international presentation of the country’s craft traditions.
